Through Dajiang Environment Corporation Acquaint, located in Leeuwarden, was invited to participate in the “Yangtze Water Award” Global WaterTech Challenge. Acquaint’s water innovation was selected to be presented during the Grand Final, held during the International Top-level Forum on Engineering Science and Technology 2019 & the 4th Singapore-Nanjing Eco Hi-Tech Island International Water Environment Management Summit on 16-17 October 2019, in Nanjing, China. The pitch of Acquaint’s state of the art technology, that will increase the reliability of pipeline utilities, presented by Rudy Dijkstra, General Manager, was successful and granted with a 3rd prize worth $60,000.00.

On 16 and 17 October 2019, Rudy Dijkstra, General Manager of Acquaint B.V., participated in the International Top-level Forum on Engineering Science and Technology 2019 & the 4th Singapore-Nanjing Eco Hi-Tech Island International Water Environment Management Summit, in Nanjing, China.
On Thursday 17 October 2019 Rudy was able to present Acquaint to the audience during the Round-table Talk on Global Water Innovation, and explained the barriers that Acquaint puts in place to prevent pipeline failure. Acquaint’s inspection techniques result in 100% insight, 85% cost reduction, 90% risk deduction and 98% CO2 reduction, and contribute to achieving operational excellence.
Other Dutch water experts that presented their global water innovations were Marcel Zevenbergen, Program Manager liquid sensing solutions at Holst Centre, Dragan Savic FREng, Chief Executive Officer at KWR Water Research Institute, and Walter G.J. van der Meer, CEO at Oasen NV.

The afternoon program, on 17 October 2019, was all about the Grand Final of the “Yangtze Water Award” Global WaterTech Challenge. The Global WaterTech Challenge, organized by Singapore-Nanjing Eco Hi-Tech Island, showcases the best of Sino-Singapore collaboration and aims to create a model city that promotes low carbon renovation and a green upgrade of the water S&T industry.
The aim of the challenge was to gather innovations in water science and technology from around the world and share a common interest in practical solutions for sustainable development through global water innovation. Rudy Dijkstra presented Acquaint’s state of the art technology, that will increase the reliability of pipeline utilities, which resulted in a 3rd prize worth $60,000.00.

Asset owners are facing a future with an increase of NRW (Non-Revenue Water) and a higher leakage rate. The remaining technical lifespan is in general unclear and it is hard to prioritize maintenance. This causes an increased risk level. Acquaint can provide a new level of risk control by means of collected degradation rates through pipeline inspection, data science and a consistent asset management approach.

The 3rd prize of this “Yangtze Water Award” Global WaterTech Challenge will stimulate Acquaint’s business relation with China, and provide them priority to enter the technology island and receive support in the talent introduction plan.
