The ACQUARIUS I is developed by Acquaint in close cooperation with Wetsus, European centre of excellence
for sustainable water technology, and leading Dutch water utility companies PWN, Vitens, Brabant Water, Evides and Oasen.
The water supply system in the Netherlands consists of counts 117,000 km. The pipeline system varies in age, from a century old to present construction. At the moment there is only a little insight in its current condition.
The development of the ACQUARIUS I, the results of the pilot inspections in drinking water pipelines, as well as the advantages of the inline inspection tool were captured in a film.
“These pipelines deteriorate over time and we want to know in time when a failure could occur in these pipelines” says Roel Diemel, Senior Advisor Asset Management Brabant Water.
Bart Bergmans, Senior Advisor Innovation & Policy Evides, explains how he experienced the cooperation with Acquaint: “What I really like about Acquaint is that they listen very carefully to what the client wants and that they also act very quickly. They can do a lot themselves. This makes working with them very pleasant, together you are able to achieve results and it makes you feel really helped as a client”.
“Through these developments and pilots, we now know that we are able to help the drinking water companies specifically with their inspection related questions. In the end the water company will be able to make risk-based decisions” says Rudy Dijkstra, General Manager Acquaint.
