With decisiveness Acquaint creates insight into the state of pipeline networks, because pipelines do not have to fail. The inspections along with the collected data enable asset managers to make reliable and substantiated decisions regarding the steps to take. In this article, Robbert Lodewijks shares how Acquaint has developed into a partner that not only facilitates its clients but also challenges and encourages them to keep take a step further. In this way, we jointly move towards a future-proof water supply. One of the methods that Acquaint uses to explain to its clients how the inspection tools work, and why they are useful to them, is by providing free (online) demos.
Before a drinking water company, water board or municipality chooses to use the Do It Yourself Pipe Scanner, there is the possibility to attend a demo (currently online). During a demo, how the Pipe Scanner works, what the measuring principle is, and how the data is presented in a user-friendly way, is explained. Questions can be answered directly through interaction with the clients. For example, what happens when you tilt the Pipe Scanner for a moment? We immediately respond to this by showing what happens to your scan.
Anyone within the organisation or company can attend an online demo. Robbert emphasizes the importance of the different departments within an organisation or company attending the demo. ‘’We prefer to see a number of people from one organisation. For example, the asset manager and the field operator who will use the Pipe Scanner. The asset manager asks different questions than a field operator. In this way, an organisation can decide even better whether the Pipe Scanner is the appropriate tool for solving specific challenges’’. Of course, with a physical demo, you have the experience of handling the Pipe Scanner yourself. You feel how it lays in your hand, how light it is and how easy you can move the scanner over the pipeline. When this is possible again, this will add another dimension to the demo.
Robbert: ‘’Because a lot of information is provided to the client during the demo – sometimes an epiphany is experienced in a discussion that has been going on for years – organisations often come up with many questions and ideas about working methods in the days or weeks after the demo. Of course, we are always open to answer these questions and will think along with the client. Sometimes there are specific situations where a client might wonder what the best action is and if the Pipe Scanner is a suitable solution. We really think and act together with the client!’’
