We would like to introduce our new Electrical talent Durk de Vries, 28 years old, to you. Last December he started at Acquaint as an Electrical Engineer and will focus on electronic develop. Currently he provides production support for all electronic systems, such as electrical connections and assemblies for the Pipe Scanner and inline inspection tools.
Durk says: “I am also involved in developing new electronic hardware or improving the existing ones. In the long term I will also pick up the software aspect, in particular the link between the hardware/software. ”
Durk’s interest in and passion for electronics started early. He liked to tinker from an early age. “I could often be found at my neighbour who let me tinker independently on his large collection of cars,” says Durk.
Durk knew for sure from his pre-vocational education onwards that he wanted to become an electrical engineer. After completing the junior college (MBO) study electrical engineering, he did his Bachelor and completed the study Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
After my studies I went searching for a suitable job. He soon ended up on the Acquaint website and watched videos in which Rudy Dijkstra explained about the company. Durk was immediately enthusiastic. “I sent a motivation letter straight away and Rudy called me the next day.”
After that everything went very fast and soon Acquaint was one team member richer. He likes his new job. “It is a nice team and a modern company, with a lot of technical knowledge!”
Durk says that Acquaint offers him a lot of freedom and responsibility and there are also opportunities to grow. He will soon also start supervising an intern. “I think that it will be nice to do in addition. I will also learn a lot from that myself. ”
Durk does not sit still outside Acquaint either. In his spare time he is developing a solar panel tester. He is a true DAF lover and not only by watching them from a distance. “I have ambitions to get my truck driver’s license.” And there are more projects on his agenda, such as furnishing his new apartment and realizing his aviation ambitions.
