Pipeline owners and asset managers naturally want to have grip on their pipeline network. They actually want to know today where a problem will arise tomorrow. By means of the Do It Yourself Pipe Scanner they regain control. With the measurement data, data models and analyses, the pipeline network is and remains in top condition.
With the Pipe Scanner you can perform a complete, external pipeline condition assessment in no time. The technician in the field becomes the inspector and operates the Pipe Scanner independently. Wherever and whenever he or she wants. Conducting condition assessment independently provides the pipeline owner of asset manager full control. If, for whatever reason, a pipelines is exposed, it can be scanned directly with the Pipe Scanner to determine its condition.
The data collected from the scan is automatically uploaded to Acquaint, after which the pipeline data is analysed. The condition of the pipeline, the risks and the remaining life are documented within one day. The pipeline owner has a so-called ‘control room’ via the dashboard that offers all the ‘insights’ of the scanned pipelines.
Robbert Olinga, Chief Supply Chain and Export at Acquaint, summarises: “Thanks to the Pipe Scanner, pipeline owners and asset managers are given full control over conducting inspections and condition assessments”.
Through this article we provide some insight into how the pipeline owner or asset manager collects data by using the Pipe Scanner. If you want to see how it works, check the Pipe Scanner page.
